The Massillon Heritage Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that has been responsible for the restoration and preservation of Five Oaks, home of the Massillon Woman's Club, for over thirty years. During that period, completed projects include: restoration of the ballroom, repair and restoration of all fireplaces, renovation of the heating system, rewiring the entire house, restoration of the parlor floor, installation of an elevator to provide handicapped access to all floors, and ongoing repairs to the roof and gutters. We have a grant pending to repair the roof and mortar and a cracked column. There is also work being done to replace and upgrade the exterior lighting. Gifts and grants have assisted in these projects, but they would not have been possible without the support of the community and membership contributions.
In accordance with our mission, the Foundation is in the process of designing a monument to be placed at the Union Cemetery on Andrew St to honor the veterans and townspeople buried there. This is the site of the first public cemetery in Massillon.
There are many vital preservation projects planned for the future and we need your support to continue the high level of expertise that historic preservation requires. The following chart indicates the membership levels of support and benefits provided with each level. Please click here to access a form to print and send in with your membership payment or donation.
